In what sports world does a new owner keep the old regime past failure? Tuchel had a shot, he blew it, time to build the new Chelsea.

Chelsea for all its success has never been well run in my opinion. Not sure how involved Boehly is with the Dodgers, but if that's how Chelseas gets set up, they'll be in good shape. They even have a similar farm system. The anti-American bias is strong in England. horsefeathers em

I watched the Liverpool game last night and I don't think I would be panicking if I was a fan. That was about 80% Joe Gomez and 20% TAA and we already knew Gomez sucks and TAA is not a great defender. While one would want Liverpool to dominate Napoli, it's not that easy on the road and once you fall behind. If you believe VVD is not as effective, then that is cause for worry but not clear one can conclude that just yet.

i kinda wonder at times if TAA just needs to move on. He's way too talented to be so disinterested, his attacking is still strong but he never seems to be in the right place defensively. He's won literally everything at Liverpool, maybe it's all just stagnant there. Salah is taking a lot of blame this year too but he's working with a whole new frontline essentially. You just can't keep the same XI out there for 5 years running and think the trophies are going to keep coming. Things get stagnant fast at the top

Thiago and Matip getting healthy will go a long way. They aren't quite single points of failure(Konate is very good if he can get healthy, and there's other midfielders who can get back from injury or into form), but they're representative of what should be a turnaround in results. At this point I'm not worried about them missing the UCL knockout rounds or even qualifying for Champions League next year. But in terms of an EPL title race, I think between the flaws and lack of depth they've shown, I'm not at all hopeful they'll be seriously in the hunt.

Kind of depends what City does. If City is 95+, I agree. But I am thinking 85 might be more realistic this year.

Man United is not going to beat teams that don't go forward against them. They just have nothing other than counters.

I don't like that CBS has soccer locked away on Paramount+ since I have no use for it otherwise(shout out to T-Mobile for 1 year free), but their studio shows are the gold standard. The post-matchday show they do for Champions League is just Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher busting chops and laughing like hyenas for an hour and it is the dumbest thing that can't help but make me smile.

I sign up for 2 months (normally 3 but the condensed group stage this year saves me money) and then cancel. Then I sign up for 3 months in the spring.

Having a mom in her 60’s who is predictably obsessed with CBS prime time programming has really paid off for me.

I have officially purchased a Musah away jersey for the World Cup. The slightly less boring option. I have plenty of old home white jerseys from better designs anyway.

i have put a gio shirt in the cart like 17 times but i always back out because im waiting to see how debilitating his inevitable early november hamstring injury will be, same for pulisic

Nah bro Gio’s injuries were just because he was playing elite sport during a late puberty growth spurt. Pull the trigger. He’ll never get injured again.

To all the people who think the home Jersey is better, I’d ask you how you think that will look in a regular outfit with like jeans or something. TJ Maxx ass jersey.

Everyone in Group B is prat-falling their way to November. England and Wales both getting worked in Nations League, Iran firing/unfiring/firing their coach, and the US approaching their final prep window with the urgency of a charity pro-am.
