Hell yeah. Getting warmed up for the hex.

It's the octagon this year.

Also, thanks to CONCACAF, half of those fouls are probably going to be called on CP.

Solid MLS showing in the CCL first round, with Atlanta and Portland advancing, Toronto beating a Liga team, and Philly well on their way to advancing, with Columbus playing tomorrow with a huge lead.

Feels a bit like a turning point.

If my counts are right that's now 5 of their last 7 for MLS against Mexican teams outside the Monterrey region. Increasingly the CONCACAF pecking order is Tigres/Monterrey and then a pretty even tier of upper class Liga MX & MLS teams.

Kind of dull stuff today. Chelsa-RM and City-PSG

Can both teams lose the Chelsea-Real tie?

chelsea could beat Real, but go so hard in the two matches that they wear themselves out and drop points to west ham etc and lose top 4 in the prem and watch all their hopes of a big summer transfer window go into the toilet

CCL 2nd round matchups (team listed 2nd gets 2nd leg):

America-Portland

Atlanta-Philadelphia

Toronto-Cruz Azul

Columbus-Monterrey

With Molino and now Morris hurt I don't think Columbus has much chance, but if Portland can get a little more healthy they have a shot and Toronto could definitely go through if they play as well as they did against Leon(plus they can only get healthier). So 3 semifinalists is within reach, but 2 is probably a good result while the guaranteed 1 would be disappointing(if individually understandable)

Hansi Flick is officially taking over Germany after the euros, and Nagelsmann is Bayern’s top choice. Looks like Marsch will be getting the big Red Bull job next year. I love it. Reunited with Tyler Adams, Caden Clark coming on board, and we’ll see Aaronson there eventually.

Love the Haaland reaction on the goal. I can't help but feel like the dip and resurgence are both related to playing time . . . chicken or egg?

That and they both faced managerial changes and minor injuries at the exact same times.

Obviously form dips are way more concerning for 22 year old veterans than a 19 year old because you expect it from the young guy.

Inter Miami - Galaxy is pretty jarring after City - Chelsea yesterday. Higuan is something beyond washed. Fat & slow is a bad recipe for south Florida heat and humidity.

The PL looking a little less decided these days. Hard to see City dropping 8 points but you never know.

Spain and France have great multi-team races going. Should be a fun run in. Champions League should be fun too - anyone but Madrid would be a welcome change!

Galaxy-Inter found a beautiful MLS groove after a disjointed start.

Our bat horsefeathers-insane, high paced, non-defensively sound league is back, baby!

Sacha Kljestan out here still eating!

Italy was even close for a while but Inter has pulled away.

yes, and someone other than Juventus is fun in and of itself. Would have been fun if AC had stayed a little closer.

I’m struggling to grasp this. So it’s like the Champions League except that the 12 teams that already make it almost every year and now guaranteed to make it?

It would be like if Clemson, Bama and OSU started their own playoff with a 4th team invited every year
