Hah he might have gone like 87-2 against the Bears in his career but we got the last laugh by ending his career and then beating him on his homecoming number retirement ceremony

No mention of Charles "Peanut" Tillman retiring? Peanut announced via Twitter that he is done.

Probably not quite a Hall of Famer, but don't underestimate how good of a player he was for the Bears. All things considered, maybe the best CB the Bears have ever had. 39 INTs, 43 forced fumbles, 9 TDs. 21st in NFL history in non-offensive TDs, and all the non kick returners ahead of him are Hall of Famers (except Darren Rapey Sharper). After a defensive MVP caliber season in 2012, it's unfortunate that Peanut couldn't stay healthy the last 3 years. Getting him to 50/50 and 100 total turnovers would have put him in Canton. Also too bad he couldn't get a ring in Chicago nor last year in Carolina (even though he wasn't able to play in the SB). Screwed over by being only a 2-time probowler and 1 time all pro (2012). But a really great player and an even better person. Hopefully, the Bears can get him back in the organization in some kind of role.

Congrats on a great career #33.

I've always thought the whole "one day contract to retire as a _______" is cheesy but if there was one player I'd be ok with doing that it's Peanut.

As much as it's acceptable for a 31 year old man to have one, I'd say he's probably my favorite football player ever. Too bad he he didn't get the ring last year, really too bad the Peanut/Urlacher/Briggs core didn't get it here.

Yeah, he's pretty easily my all-time favorite Bear. Very good player and a big playmaker, great guy off the field based on everything we know, longevity in a Bears uniform, avoided injury throughout his prime, key member of the NFC champion team as well as a few other playoff teams. Not really sure who would even be 2nd for me.

Mike Brown is probably my fav if I had to pick one.

He was really the only other guy I considered. Injuries caught up to him a lot earlier in his career, so that tipped the scales for Peanut for me.

I don't think there's any one thing I loved seeing more during a play over the past 15 years than the Peanut Punch. Probably Hester's returns, but that's about it.

1. Peanut Punch

2. Hester returns

3. Mike Brown destroying people

4. That window where Nate Vasher intercepted everything thrown at him, and did the missed field goal return before Hester did

5. Rex bombs to Bernard Berrian

1. Doug Plank laying someone out to die

3. Peanut Punch

4. Watching young Urlacher chase Vick down

5. Mike Brown

6. Hester

Speaking of laying someone out to die, possibly the most memorable big hit of my life was when Singletary just destroyed whoever the backup QB from Dallas was. Just drilled him as he was sliding and that dude's head hit the turf HARD.
