College Football - Championship Week (Dec. 5)

Personally, I believe the four best teams (based on everything I've seen and followed this year) are Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Bama and OSU in no order.

Based on resume (which is how I believe it should be based) id say they seem to have it right in the current rankings.

The more I've thought about it, I think I'm in favor of Clemson keeping its spot if they lose a close game to UNC.

Oh man I would LOVE to see all the UNC fans spaz out about that :beg:

One of those names isn't like the rest. Clemson, Mich State, ND and possibly Iowa are all better than Ole Miss, IMO.

Yeah Ole Miss has no business being on that list. Stanford is also better than them.

Yup. You can whip just about everyone's ass you play, but if you lose to Memphis, you are not elite.

Correct, normally it'd be TCU, but the Big 12 uses its own tiebreaker to determine the Sugar bid.

OK State vs Ole Miss is probably the most uninspiring major bowl matchup since Michigan vs VA Tech.

Nothing to do with being elite or not just a mention of being in the playoff. If you lose 3 games your not in the discussion. Normally I would even say 2 games but not this year.

God that would be just sad. And yet could be the national title game in a month. Haha.

Ole Miss is capable of beating anybody. Not a lot of teams can say that. Obviously Ole Miss is not in any discussion for the playoff, as losing games takes you out. But in terms of who are the best teams? They have looked very very impressive a number of times. They won at Alabama, destroyed LSU and Miss St. The top of their resume is very strong.

They laid some eggs which can happen. But id put money on them straight up against Clemson or ND or Stanford in a heartbeat. They are better than those teams. They would certainly be betting favorites against all those teams as well.

Treon Harris gives me hope that I too could be a starting QB for a major college team. Right now. At 39 years old.

He is so terrible. I can't believe they don't have a guy who is better.

Also lane kiffen might kill Derrick Henry in this game. They are gonna run him into this Florida defense until he's dead. He's got like 10 carries in the first quarter and they will keep doing it without regard for his life.

LSU and Mississippi State are not good teams, Ryne. What's the best win between the two of them? Texas A&M? I guess? They're ok. Not good.

Those are good teams in addition to their win at bama. You can do what you are doing with anybody. What's notre dames best three win? USC Navy and Temple? I think I'll take MSU and LSU over those three teams. Fact is Ole Miss while [expletive] the bed twice, also looked as good as anybody more often than any other team.

Advanced stats think USC is pretty damn good, and Navy is better than either of those 2 also. LSU and Mississippi State have combined to do basically nothing. The Alabama win was great and all, but the Tide sleepwalk their way into a loss to some team every year. It doesn't make Ole Miss great.

We probably won't spend enough time to go up nuance but USC was in disarray when ND got that win.

And I don't know what to say if you think navy is better than LSU.

USC was "in disarray" by your standard the whole rest of the season too and can win the Pac 12 tonight. But I'm not sure why ND is part of this discussion anyway. My opinion that you are spectacularly overrating Ole Miss has nothing to do with them.
