really hoping Mizzou can win one more and get Pinkel to a bowl game. dude doesn't deserve to go out with two straight losses.

Winning Pinkel's last home game and continuing Tennessee's string of hilarious mediocrity where they can never pass Mizzou in the standings are two things I want to happen a lot. Like, I'd retroactively give up the Moe Miracle to win this game.

If Ole Miss and Northwestern can manage wins, Alabama will have 0 wins over ranked teams this season.

One of A&M or the winner of Arkansas/Miss St would probably sneak back in

I think A&M sucks out loud and Mississippi State has yet to beat anyone worth a [expletive], but you're probably right.

LSU probably wouldn't fall out of the rankings if they lost, if I'm being honest.

I'm not feeling confident about beating Vandy and despite what Arky did to LSU in Baton Rouge this weekend there is no way A&M wins at LSU to end the season. So we are looking at an 8-4 A&M team at best. Not sure that would get us ranked again.

I just don't get how Alabama has the #1 SOS and SOR when there's a very real possibility that they end the year with zero Top 25 wins

I don't get how the committee thinks TCU is worse than like 5 2-loss teams.

I suspect TCU is about to plummet anyway. Oklahoma might just rout them.

I think you're selling aTm short. LSU is very beatable. Brandon Harris is the only QB who can make Jay Coker look good, and LSU's O-line is not as good as usual.

I still don't really get why losses are kind of shrugged off.

I wanted to throw a brick through my TV as they kept talking about "how a team is playing now" So if Bama lost their first 5 games, who cares, look at how much they beat a decent Miss St. team by!!

I mean what is their best win? @ Minnesota?

They have played a lot of mediocre football and don't pass the eye test to me.

I'm not remotely convinced Mississippi State is decent. They've beaten exactly nobody. Frankly I think outside of Alabama the SEC West isn't that good at all. The division's collective best win besides each other is mediocre Wisconsin.

Les Miles may be coaching for his job at LSU.

Off the field, one would be hard pressed to find major boosters, big financial supporters of the program, who are in Miles’ corner. His cultivation of those relationships has been wanting, especially for someone who has won as much as Miles has. Word is the big-money folks will mass to help pay his buyout before rushing to Miles’ defense, though talk traditionally is cheaper than actually writing a check.

We are terrible against the run. Fournette will gash our defense all night long. Plus our offense has been horrid lately. I suspect that Kyle Allen will be back starting at QB this Saturday but we still have the same moron calling plays. I do like the idea of John Chavis going up against his old team, though. I am holding out hope that he'll have some special for Les that game.

I'd really like to know how Northwestern is 9 spots below Stanford. Better win, better losses.

I have no idea if the committee looks at stuff like this...but in the ELO and FPI computer rankings, they have Stanford at 11th and 11th, while for Northwestern they have them at 29th and 61st respectively.

Northwestern got the living hell beat out of them in their 2 losses.

Yeah, they got absolutely crushed. But, those losses were against better teams and Northwestern beat Stanford pretty handily (don't forget: the game ended on a pick that would have easily gone for 6 had going down not been the right play). I don't see how the committee views Stanford (significantly) better in light of that. Now, if they come out and say they've been using computer rankings to inform, I will stand down. But everything they've shared to date has been centered on wins and losses.

All that would have done was made the final score not reflective of how close the game was, as it was essentially garbage time.

Not trying to downplay the win, which was really good but I don't think the fact that Stanford threw a pick 6 while down 10 and under a minute left should have any effect on NW's CFB playoff ranking.
