My question is what is the long term plan for the Bulls? I'm pretty sure this roster is getting overhauled over the next 2 years assuming we don't win a title this year. After this season you lose 13.4m from Noah, 2.8m from Hinrich, 2.2m from Brooks, and 1.1m from Moore. Moore is the only one I think is possible to come back from that group. Also, Pau has a 7.7m option for next year...he may pick it up if he doesn't think he can get more than that in FA, or he might opt out regardless for a chance to join a Spurs/Cavs/Clippers team at a much lower salary. Plus the cap explodes so we should have some ability to build a more "Hoiball" style team.

I hold out hope for the Bulls, and if things click they can definitely contend in the east, and my opinion isn't influenced much by the preseason and first 5 games (an opinion I had for awhile), but I don't think this team has enough shooters to compliment Hoiberg's offense (which admittedly I know only in extremely basic form) which will ultimately be its downfall.

I had more to add here but I have to go back to work.

For the record, and it IS only 5 games, the Bulls are currently shooting 39% as a team from 3. They have the 2nd most total attempts in the NBA (they are also one of only 3 teams to have played 5 games, but I can't find an attempts per game ranking and I'm not gonna do it manually).

EDIT - They are 8th in percentage of FG attempts from 3 point range.

The last time Rose faced OKC before tonight (12/6/2010), his good friend Russ Westbrook was trying to make his first all star team while Rose was enroute to winning the MVP.

Hard to believe but it's been 1,795 days since Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose have faced off against each other.

So what, now, we can't draw meaningful conclusions from one game?

It's like when Richard Dreyfus gives bill Murray a prescription to take a vacation from his problems that's what this game was go bulls go Derrick.

Loved Derricks mentality in that second half, and especially the 4thQ. I hope he continues to attack and use that midrange game.

The real question that needs to be asked is why the [expletive] did the Thunder switch every Pau screen down the stretch??

If the Bulls do want to trade Rose, what could they expect to get for him?

Old teams that are trying to compete don't trade their best player.

Well, the rumors are there. Jimmy and Rose are not far apart when I look at what they bring defensively and offensively. Rose's contract, Bulls brass tired of his act, Rose's loss of explosion to the rim, lack of willingness to work with Jimmy, and injury history are plenty of reasons that a trade is a good possibility.,
