A little context on the guy who wrote the article. He's a St. Louis native who went to Mizzou and just came back to the area to work for the paper to replace Bernie Miklasz as a columnist. There's probably a mix of homerism and pandering to the audience to get them on his side since he's so new. Now, that's certainly no excuse for terrible journalism, but I get why he wrote that the way he did. He's a pretty terrible homer in general from what I've heard of him on the radio here and there.

Greg Garcia tied Matt Adams’ necktie for him. Randal Grichuk asked for help with his back collar. And Matt Carpenter, the hard-working soul of this team, stood alone in front of a mirror. He wore a stylish, checkered suit jacket with a pocket square folded just so, and he stared forward with his dejected eyes, as he momentarily struggled putting a shiny tie clip on his scarlet tie. The only thought that came to mind was — what’s the point?

How excited are TBS/Fox? Only Chi/LA/NY left on the NL side of things. Guaranteed major markets the rest of the way.

If I were them I'd want an all-Texas ALCS. Big markets and a burgeoning rivalry there.
