Who also has 1-2 type potential and has had flashes of brilliance before, sure.

Josh Smith was, as far as I can see, not on a single Reds Top Prospect list entering this year (not even MLB.com's Top 30) and looks, essentially, like a 27 year old AAAA type. DONGS AWAY, FRED.

Get a grip, CT. I never made the assertion that this Smith guy was any good.

I will fight you, Fred.

Also, I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty ready to drop Schwarber from the two spot.

Devil's advocate: for who?

he of the .348 OBP (and .500 SLG)?

if you want to get your UMFan on, his september numbers look bad until you realize his K rate is down, BB rate is up, OBP is still .324 despite a .179 avg on a .176 BABIP (good for a 105 wRC+)

Man I had not realized his babip was so bad. Good lord.

I don't hear "get a grip" as often as I'd like. I think I'll start using it more often. Thanks, Fred.

I guess I wouldn't mind seeing a lineup of:

Fowler- CF

Rizzo- 1B

Bryant- 3B

Schwarbs- LF

Coghlan/Soler- RF

Castro- 2B

Montero- C

P

Russell- SS

Idk, probably doesn't make a difference

What doesn't help is the one-two punch of Schwarber being shackled by the BABIP gods at the same time that Dexter is back into another stankin' ass phase of the moon this month.

So is this the series where they haze the rookies and make them wear leotards and dresses and walk back to the hotel?
