ARCubsFan, we all know that Hammel has largely sucked in the second-half. You don't have to explain it. I called you out in the second inning because you called for the bullpen after an error. He's actually been somewhat decent tonight, though. 1 BB, 6K. The homer hurt him, sure. But, he's also had to get three extra outs tonight.

 

The homer hurt but it was his only XBH allowed all game which followed his only walk of the game. Again I'm not saying it was a great start by any means but it wasn't terrible.

agreed. i honestly like almost everyone on here even if they are infuriating at times.

I'm honestly a super nice guy in real life. and i don't think i'm a huge dick on here or anything but i'm very sarcastic and sometimes that line is blurred between sarcastic and jerk on the internet (or text in general - ask my ex).

La Stella now hitting .345/.406/.587 in September. .288/.360/.467 since coming off the DL.

 

It's too bad he wasn't healthy all year. With so many shortstops on the roster, we are fine with him as the utility infielder, even if he can only play second and third. And he gives us a left-handed bat off the bench, when most of our bench guys are gonna be righties.

I could totally see La Stella in the starting lineup in the WC game, which would be funny after what's been said of him on here. I figure either Maddon won't trust Starlin on defense and won't want Baez facing the nastiness of Cole, or Joe won't trust Schwarber in PNC and will move Bryant to LF.

I do not think so. He's over 6 years of service time now, we signed him to a minor league deal, and even if his previous contract applies it calls for a 13 million team option for next year.

Ive been saying all along La Stella is good. Players with walk rates like his almost never fail to become at least decent major leaguers. In the AFL a couple years back he had a comical K/BB.
