Deets for those not watching

 

Background character 2B for the Phillies booted a grounder, tried to grab onto Rizzo and now his thumb is not where it should be. Rizzo looked shaken up for a minute, but seems fine.

Rizzo with a weak grounder into the shift to the second baseman. Second baseman bobbles it, fumble fucks around. He tries to track it down and the ball is just rolling around. As he is trying to scoop up the ball, he runs into the baseline, past the base. Rizzo runs through the base and there is a collision. Rizzo destroys this guy's thumb. I mean, his thumb is completely fucked.

Montero has been pretty bad at blocking balls this season.

 

 

I don't know if that's true or not, but it sure seems like it. And it seems like it comes at critical times. Hopefully he can make up for it w the bat like he did a while back when he hit that walk off.
