I can only assume him staying in the 3 spot would eventually degrade your brain to the point where you start sounding like Bernie Lincicome

 

It's needless lineup alchemy at this point now that they have Jackson. It does little but potentially get less AB's for better hitters.

 

CUBS are 20-4 (.833) when Coghlan hits in the third spot

So Coghlan is worth 16 WAR according to some moron writer in St. Louis. Cool.

Yeah, I'm done with Coghlan in the 3 hole. At least 1 of the 2 best players on the team need to be assured of batting in the 1st inning in every single game. Fred showed the record when the Cub score in the 1st. Probably similar around the league. The best way to score in the 1st is to make sure Rizzo and/or Bryant bat in the 1st.

When your first two batters fail to get on base, you limit your opportunity to score down to 1 possibility. Maybe the answer lies in the selection of the first two batters rather than the the third ??
