Jonah Keri just said the Cubs are going to break the MLB record for most offensive strikeouts by a team in a single season. I didn't realize it was that bad.

I'd say the last 2 + monteros were pretty damn offensive...

Amirite?

:groan:

In hindsight if Ross stays in we possibly don't give up a run in the 8th

Rich Hill went 9, allowed 2 hits,a walk, and K'd 10.

3 starts, 23IP, 10H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, and 30k..

What the [expletive] [expletive].

I've pretty much given up entirely and just chalk it all up to "pitchers are weird."

If we had traded for him(and probably had given up something of value), the wtf's and lol's would have been rampant. Then he does this [expletive] for us? I'd be thrilled with him as our 3rd playoff starter by now most likely.

If he has another good start or two before the season ends, what the hell does a 5 start streak get him in FA?(and no, I have zero interest in us going after him)

I'm pretty sure they still can and might celebrate. Our good friend Tony Larussa set the precident

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The St. Louis Cardinals broke out the champagne and sprayed their way around a raucous clubhouse, celebrating their NL Central championship. Two days after they clinched it. Albert Pujols' go-ahead single keyed a three-run ninth inning, and the Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-4 Monday night for their major league-leading 98th victory. Under baseball's tiebreaker rules, St. Louis ensured its third division title in five seasons on Saturday when the Cardinals beat Arizona 7-0, and San Francisco and the Chicago Cubs both lost. But manager Tony La Russa refused to acknowledge that his team had already won the crown, both before and after Sunday's 3-2 loss to Arizona. La Russa wanted to clinch it on the field. He stormed out of his postgame news conference after angrily responding to a question about delaying the traditional champagne celebration. So the bubbly just sat, chilling for two extra days -- until the Cardinals let loose Monday night.
