We needed Lester to come up big tonight and he didn't. Period. Yes, he's been great for awhile, but for a guy that's being hailed as our ace (although we all know it's Arrieta), this is a huge letdown.

Jesus Christ you are negative. You act like the season is on the line tonight. It's a bad start after about 20 mostly very good ones.

Guaranteed Rondon Fan would be one of the dipshits booing Lester right now if he was at the game.

I hate interleague play.

Just curious, is this some sort of implication that the AL is so superior to the NL that even fringe playoff teams in the AL are better than NL contenders?

Hahahahah! Gameday apparently has no speed readings for Richard's pitches. I'm just picturing him throwing everything super-slow like a Bugs Bunny pitch. Edited by Sammy Sofa

The only pitcher I've ever booed at a game is Brian Schlitter.

For all of you downplaying the significance of this game, we're in a playoff RACE. There are other solid teams chasing and leading us right now. Every single game is [expletive] important. I'm not gonna get a win with this thread so I might as well follow DiamondMind's lead and get drunk as hell. My apologies in advance if I start getting ornery.

He hit 94

That's a weird jersey number.

Agreed. People rooting for the Giants this week have been driving me crazy.

They're going to lose a number of games between now and the end of the season; so acting like each one is a nightmare and blackout drunk-worthy seems a tad excessive. It's it like this one counts as a double-loss or anything.

Little known fact: each one of the 162 games in a season are as important as the rest of them.

No, the Tigers are not a better team than the Cubs. I just don't like it. It seems like the Cubs always play lousy outside of the White Sox.

I was at the Stadium for all three games when they got swept by the Yankees. Jeter hit a [expletive] grandslam in one game.
