Shout out for the 5 2/3 scoreless innings by the pen today, including Richard, Grimm, Strop and Rondon. The only two hits they allowed were both infield dribblers.

Our bullpen has been [expletive] beastly of late. I mean, everything about the team has been, but the bullpen is a really cool segment of that.

Coghlan hit .321 in 128 games as a rookie and won RoY. I really think that helps with some of these young guys. Starlin was an instant star as a 20 year old. Rizzo was a huge prospect who kind of failed initially, but worked through it. We have some pretty great players for the rookies to look to and ask questions about the way to handle things.

I was following the tail end of this via Gameday, so I missed this fist pump. Didn't get how it got as much attention as it did. But now that I've seen it, if I were a Sox fan, I'd be hating that [expletive] out of him and asking how that kind of conduct has no place in professional sports. But I'm not, so it's a thing of beauty. Jose Valverde would be proud and ashamed all at once.
