imagine if we didnt have to face the cardinals and pirates a million [expletive] times

bring back the balanced schedule (i think we had it in the 90s right?)

We're about 36 hours from having the 3rd best record in the NL(4th in MLB!) and still being 3+ games back of the 1st wild card.

That's quitter talk.

meh i guess they'd get to face all the crap teams too..but it screws all three teams in terms of wild card implications

It's Motte time.

This weekend is a dream

Reminds me of the 08 series against the Brewers.

Yep, was thinking about that this morning. Went to the second and third games of that series.

Who's hitting 2 home runs tomorrow including a grand slam a la Jim Edmonds?

Pirates have to go to STL and then NYM next, so hopefully we can gain some ground next week.

My Cardinals friend to me a couple weeks ago, "Bryant, Soler, Russell, Schwarber..there's no way all your prospects turn out legit."

Well, let's see: even if we don't go back to the Brett Jackson era, there's a pretty good bust case for Baez, Alcantara, Edwards, Almora, and Johnson. And Soler isn't exactly tearing it up this year.
