I lived in LS East for 2 months and it wasn't my favorite, but I did live in Printer's Row (which is technically "downtown") and it was awesome. Being able to walk to work 5 days per week and "commute" to the cool stuff on weekends was pure bliss. Life-changing.

 

i commute out by oak park but still want to live in the city...access to LSD (which in my experience moves much better during the morning rush as a N/S artery than the kennedy) is huge for me.

 

i'd love to walk to work but i don't want to live in the burbs, so i deal with it. i don't really hate my 1:45 or so in the car every day.
