Sounds like the backup QB's are....not good.

Shane Carden isn't our savior?

I remember being pissed at Emery for not going after a better backup than McCown two years ago.

On the flip side, I felt great about our depth after signing Jason Campbell.

Needless to say I pretty much ignore that position now.

when this team relied on its dominant defense to win games it probably made some sense to worry about backup QB. But the way this team is constructed, backup QB does not matter. If Cutler isn't starting, they aren't doing anything.

And that isn't to ignore the possibility they do nothing even with Cutler starting.

Kevin White's injury has to be somewhat serious. He was out for 6 weeks total (little to no cardio training?) and now missing training camp time? Maybe a fracture of his shin is my guess.

I think they said he was doing cardio now but they're being really annoying about how secretive they're being about stuff now so who knows.

White and Goldman being out is an annoyance. This season is going to be worthless anyway so hopefully they can play most of it to get experience.

Goldman only missed one practice due to dehydration. He's fine.

White is a bigger concern though. Fox doesn't sound too confident. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he misses all of camp.

He led the NFL in giveaways during the 2014 season, but Bears quarterback Jay Cutler finished his fifth day of two-plus-hour practices still without either an interception thrown or a fumble lost.

That just means our defensive backs suck

They've been dominating Shane Carder...when he actually throws the ball anywhere near a receiver.

I missed part/most of the conversation but Boers & Bernstein sounded even more concerned with White. Did anyone else catch that? It was a "he might never be the same" kind of thing.

it was just speculation. they don't know anything. just trying to rile people up by talking about what a disaster it would be for pace if white wound up chris williams redux.

Got it. I figured.

Is that a guy on the team?

Duh. The highly touted undrafted FA out of East Carolina.

Is David Fales around?

The roster shows him as "active/non-football illness".

Yeah, Fales has mono or some [expletive]. IDK. But neither are going to make this team. Bears probably want to get someone halfway competent in camp too from what I hear.
