Getting within 6.5 would definitely make this race seem close. One of my favorite games from 2003 was when the Cubs were 5.5 GB in late July and trailing late in Houston. Zambrano tied it up with a 2 run homer in the 7th and Alou put the Cubs ahead in the 8th.

on the 4th i was just at one of my friends' family's house for the first time in years and when i walked through his living room i remembered watching a cubs game while we pregamed one night that summer. this is the game.
