If you hate it here so much, just leave

its not that i hate it here... more the opposite people hate me here lol

My suggestion to you would be to cut back on the amount of posts for the next couple months, take a step back, and observe the general tone of the board. This will give you a better idea of what constitutes a good post or not. Think of it like being a AAAA player that shuttles between Iowa and Chicago. You can be our Matt Sczcur. And for September call ups, you will be ready to give a positive contribution.

but we might start to lose again so i'm not sure we want that.

Did you nap through the 5 game losing streak?

There are more people like me out there the next time another one comes through you will have the same issues.. just make a damn forum rules/sticky.

Look, this isn't a "here's rules specific to NSBB" situation. Or even "here's how you should behave on a forum" situation. This is a "here's how you should handle life" situation.

When you join a community, take some time to feel it out, see how things work. You know that weird awkward first month or so in a new job, where you feel out new people, and new procedures to figure out the lay of the land? That applies here too.

As far as your demand for a forum rules/sticky, we've had them before, and at some point it got archived/moved. We'll look at possibly a new one...maybe. But it shouldn't be necessary.

And it's not like it really solved a ton of issues when it was around.

virtual reality and real life are by no means the same my friend. yeah in a real life situation sure feeling out the environment is part of the process. in an online forum everyone is anonymous so really there is no need to feel it out.

You could not be more wrong on this. The consequences might be different, but barging into an online forum without understanding how things work there is still not a good way to make friends.

sure if you don't care how people respond to you or what they think about you

in which case, don't get upset when everyone wants you to leave

best part is he was the one who just posted this

It's not about people who are new. It's about posters who suck. We have old and new ones of those.

And there are some good new posters too. But most new posters will suck because most people suck.

This is the perfect example of what im talking about here

Additional: Its really wise of you to judge if people suck or not based on an online forum. You have no idea who most people are in the physical world.

It doesn't have to be anonymous. Text me your address; I would like to hook up and do jigsaw puzzles with you.

This board is fine except cursing. Other than that it just sounds like a bunch of belly aching. I find you humorous personally and a good sport.

I'm rather new here, but I don't really get the desire for an official set of rules. Why set up a tangible list of things you need to do when it seems to me like the whole point of a forum is to have a place for thoughts to be posted? If someone posts dumb [expletive], tell them so. Likewise, if someone posts amazing content, tell them so. The internet is an interesting place because there's all the most useful information in the world at your fingertips, as well as the most useless crap:

To me, this forum is a place where people that share an interest in the Chicago Cubs can post their thoughts on the cubs, or on whatever else they want. I just don't see a need for some set of rules to dictate how and what one should post.

About as wise as judging the intent of the founder and moderators of said online forum based on how some users react to you as an individual, I guess

I really don't think we need a membership application.

Maybe an entrance exam... :-k

your second sentence is just wrong. rarely are people as anonymous online as they think. but specific to nsbb, many (most?) of the people on this forum have eventually become connected in other ways, whether social media, other forums, or fantasy sports leagues. So many of us know some people here outside the forum. Moreover, you linked to a profile of yourself, so you aren't anonymous either.

regardless, even if you were anonymous, Thurman makes a great point. When you come into any community, online or not, anonymous or not, you need to figure out how things work and how you fit in. Some people may be able to just barge in and be rockstars, but almost everyone needs to figure stuff out first.

finally, i don't think anyone hates you. i shouldn't speak for everyone, I guess, someone might hate you. but i think mostly people are annoyed by some of your habits b/c they remind them of the places they left to come to nsbb. others have had similar rough patches in their history. many of them are gone, but some are still around. it's not impossible to stop annoying the hell out of everyone and have a happier existence here.

Do you guys still have that secret code word you used to use ? That was so cool.

Bingo.

Think of it this way. If you were at a party, and there was a group of people you were listening to talk about the Cubs and talking about sabermetric stats that you're not knowledgeable about, in depth knowledge of the entirety of the Cubs from the business aspects all the way to the lowest minor league systems that you aren't familiar with, and all using a brand of humor they all were in on but you couldn't quite grasp, would you walk up to that group of people and be comfortable jumping in on the conversation with something meatbally like "Man have you seen Lester's W-L record? What a joke! We need a pitcher who knows how to win, right guys?" would you expect them to be like "Dude, good point, never thought of it that way. Welcome to the club! You seem like a fun person to have around!"?

You make music. I'm sure you use a cadre of different musical programs to make your music. Maybe you even have some musical instrument ability. If you were having an in depth discussion with your musician friends about something you're truly passionate about and I walked up and was like "So, I was messing around with Garage Band at the Apple Store, it's really neat! I think I can make something like Skrillex! Do you guys like Skrillex?!?! Also been playing a lot of Guitar Hero, I'm getting really good! Watch your back, Joe Perry!" would you think I'm a cool dude or would you immediately wish I'd go back over by the punch bowl and drown in it?

This forum is full of a bunch of people who have their finger on the trigger ready to jump at the first chance to show you how smart they are. People here literally browse through the threads LOOKING for opportunities to throw zingers and assert their superior intelligence.

The other day I made a thread asking one simple question: What race is Addison Russell? It was an honest question. I was curious. I meant no harm by it. I got absolutely bombarded with comments like, "WHY DOES IT MATTER?!?" as if I'm being some sort of ignorant racist for just ASKING about a person's ethnicity.

There is a lot that I love about this forum, but the people can be a bit much at times. It's kind of like living in the suburbs. All your neighbors are going to be a bunch of stuck-up pricks.
