i feel bad for cubs fans who don't like hockey. it's basically reversed there. st. louis (also their rival in that sport) is the team that chokes every single year, and everything goes right for chicago. it makes it feel like the awful cubs/cards stuff just evens it out.

Except the Blackhawks were bad for awhile and went 40 years without winning anything.

i didn't exist 40 years ago, what do i care

Is that really what happened? I'm a complete idiot on drug stuff, but I didn't think you could "OD" on marijuana.

You can't OD on it.

i don't want no hangover

Just feels like Packers-Bears or Bulls-LeBron at this point. Although I trust the Cubs front office a little bit more to get them somewhat over the hump.

In 3 of the last 4 seasons the Cubs went to the playoffs the Cardinals didn't finish better than 3rd, so it's not like the Cardinals and Cubs have a recent rivalry in terms of the Cardinals ruining the Cubs chances to do anything significant. When the Cubs are consistently good they'll be able to beat the Cardinals consistently again, so it's really not any kind of specific "hump" for them to overcome.

Man, I can't stand hockey and even I think this a completely dumb and nonsensical thing to say.

The Cardinals love them some doubles. Can we have a double?

Cubs fans could use one tonight. =D> =D> =D>

People forget that for the first 50 years of their existence, the St. Louis Browns / Perfectos / Cardinals were far and away the most futile team in all of baseball. Far worse than the Phillies, or the St. Louis Browns (AL)......

The Cubs, for the 1st time this year, look lifeless and helpless. The week that started so promising has ended brutally.

This team seems to have a lot of those stretches - just about to break through and then into the tank.

It was like 3 days ago only 2 teams in baseball had fewer losses and now it feels... a lot worse than that.

Which, as much as it can suck, is sort of what's to be expected for this season.

schilling holding a baseball every time they cut to him is so [expletive] annoying

i have a friend who always likes to hold a football when he's watching football like he's in a [expletive] beer commercial. schilling is even worse though, given that he's technically at work while he's pulling this.

ESPN is just disgusting in glossing over how Oscar Taveras died and how he murdered his girlfriend.

He was 4 times over the legal limit!

There's no need to downplay this.

It was over 5 times the legal limit.
