What really makes me sick is that Cardinals fans don't even view the Cubs as a threat. They expect the Cardinals to beat the Cubs and it's considered just business as usual. Even if the Cubs pulled off a miraculous, late inning win tonight, Cardinals fans would laugh and see a 9.5 game lead.

Man, Fowler has kinda sucked in both May and June.

Yeah, it's the reverse of a contract year where you actually have your worst year at the wrong time. I don't know if he's putting pressure on himself or not, but he is costing himself some money if he doesn't turn this around.

Can't be certain because until this year I obviously have never watched him hit on a nearly daily basis, but I've speculated he might be nursing some sort of minor hand/wrist injury that's affecting him for some time now. He is taking awkward swings and his bottom hand seems to come off the bat a lot, which is weird. But he's a long/big dude so it could just be a prolonged struggle and he might just look extra awkward when he's off.

I don't know this for sure because I don't know many Cardinals fans, but I bet they feel this way about almost every team.

He's walking a lot less, too. I was really hoping the Cubs were getting a guy who kept on getting on base at a good clip.
