US Open is on Fox

I threw on the livestream and quickly realized Fox continues to employ pretty terrible announcers for all sports.

 

Golf on TV is inherently boring but it can make for good background noise and does get a little exciting down the stretch in majors. Joe Buck and friend may figure out a way to ruin that concept.

 

Just saw Tiger quickly go +4. Leaders are now -5 Mickelson is -1 and Spieth is +1.

Joe Buck has been [expletive] miserable doing this, somehow he's worse than he is on NFL/MLB games. The guy trying to do the Ferity impersonation is also awful.

I came on here to start this thread and am happy that it exists.

 

I wanted to start a thread to say this is the worst broadcast of a major sporting event that I've ever seen.

 

They have only shown two groups on the course the entire evening. Only Jason Day and Jordan Speith are going to make the weekend.

 

This is so bad I can hardly believe it. There are like 10 guys under par currently on the course that could be shown.

 

I understand tiger. But we don't need to se at +9 fowler hit every shot.

Caught a few minutes earlier as they came on the air. Greg Norman was talking about how wives and girlfriends need to help the players stay calm or some [expletive]. Buck responds, "but they must never meet each other." I laughed.

Looked like Spieth was going to walk away after 16 and [expletive] just got crazy. Double on 17 and now we have a 3 way tie. Then Spieth gives him self a shot at an Eagle putt.

Yeah I was watching and was surprised at how the announcers acted like they were stunned. That might have been their chance to make a comment on the greens. But nothing.

That hop/bounce likely had very little to do with the actual greens and was probably caused by a ball mark not being replaced correctly. The greens sucked tho. Edited June 22, 2015 by Cubswin11

Well yeah but they would have just said that. It seemed like they went out of their way not to be critical, even if they did report on some of the things the players had to say.
