That's fascinating. I don't know what to read into that. There is the fact that Lopez and Teagarden are at AAA, so perhaps Davis is working in the OF to increase his versatility. That said, one does wonder if this is going to lead to a mid-season Schwarber call-up to AAA.

That's fascinating. I don't know what to read into that. There is the fact that Lopez and Teagarden are at AAA, so perhaps Davis is working in the OF to increase his versatility. That said, one does wonder if this is going to lead to a mid-season Schwarber call-up to AAA.

 

Davis has been a quietly solid prospect over the past few years, just not one who's going to stand in the way of Schwarber. This being said, with Schwarber's inevitable promotion, they want him to continue to get regular playing time. My guess is that Davis becomes an OF/3rd C, Lopez backup C, and Teagarden as the odd man out.
