if he has another 0fer today i think he might need more time to get his swing back!

What if he just gets 1 hit?

2 hits?

Can we get some kind of spreadsheet?

Ah, to be a meatball; every struggle can be fixed by being sent down or being sent to the bench.

But that's not what he said. He simply said he may need more time to get back into rhythm, which is actually perfectly reasonable. I mean, he says lots of dumb stuff, but this probably shouldn't be included in that grouping.

ETA: And then he follows up with that. Ugh.

you guys kill me sometimes. a guy coming back from an injury should have a couple good games in rehab before he comes back. i dont care who you are, i get it everyone is tired of baxter/denorfia/etc etc.. but its worth waiting till a guy has his swing back!

Even if he was beating up on minor league pitching it doesn't mean his "swing is back."

have you guys been at the games and watched him play that would indicate something other than he is struggling so far in his rehab assignment? I understand if he was crushing the ball and BABIP was not his friend, but he has 3 k's in 7 ab's!!!!

sorry if a lot of times i don't type a billion word explanation. the basis of my point was due to the reports on the local chicago radio that he will be back friday!

In 2 months, Soler had 5 pairs of hitless games with 3+ K's. His AAA performance is largely meaningless in determining if he 'has his swing back' or is ready to re-join the MLB team. Even moreso in this case, if he's healthy then letting him get right at the MLB level is better than letting Baxter or Szczur get plate appearances.

that would be standard operating procedure. A guy who misses 2-4 weeks typically gets a few PA in a handful of games before he is called back. If he missed 6 months he would probably get more time. But he doesn't need to stay down for more than 2-3 games.
