I'm not sure who would be leaving besides Coke.

Rondon and Strop aren't going anywhere

Grimm has an option and has been used recently, but I really doubt they'd send him down for 10 days considering how valuable he is

Rosscup has an option, but he should still be fresh and is clearly the top LHP option in the pen

Motte would need to be DFA'd, don't see that happening

I *think* Russell would need to be DFA'd, that could happen but I doubt it given Coke is leaving and Russell has been effective

Jackson would need to be released. He's pitched well so that'd be a little bit of a surprise, but if Wada is coming to bump Wood from the rotation or be a long man himself, there's some duplication.

The other thing it could be is losing the 8th reliever and bringing up La Stella. In either case, I'd have to guess Russell or Jackson going away.

Jackson has pitched well? I am assuming I am missing something because my baseball knowledge dwarfs yours, but I see a 4.85 xFIP

Lester is going 7 strong today, we shouldn't need him.

It's not analysis, it's a thread title based solely on conjecture and no evidence, and has nothing to do with what actually happened.

The only analysis is "Hey, there's nothing to suggest that Phil Coke is gone", which, given your history on player value, is probably well beyond you, true.

I feel like you are taking this a bit too seriously maybe

I have a personal annoyance of the "breaking news" threads where it's just conjecture based on rumor.

Yeah, once it was announced the Cubs were bringing up Schlitter as a 9th pen arm, they were definitely using him today.

The real question is, who comes up/goes down tomorrow. Lake?

Yeah, Lake has to be it I'd think, mayyybe La Stella. Schlitter back down, and probably Coke getting DFA'd for Wada.
