good game for the hitting prospects at tennessee:

almora 1-5, 2k (ok that wasn't so good)

schwarber 3-5

vogelbach 1-3, 2bb, 1k

w. contreras 3-4, double

mckinney 2-4, 2 doubles

hannemann 2-4, double, k

also this seems pretty weird:

Boog Powell called out on strikes.

Daniel Robertson singles on a line drive to left fielder Albert Almora.

Tennessee Smokies second baseman Stephen Bruno left the game due to an injured back.

Defensive Substitution: Ryan Dent replaces second baseman Stephen Bruno, batting 7th, playing second base.

i have no idea how he managed to injure himself between the first batter of the game striking out and the second batter hitting a single to left field, when bruno was playing on the opposite side of the infield.

So if McKinney is really this good, where does he fit in the future? LF? RF? On some other team?

I think on a good team McKinney could be a starting OF, or maybe a deluxe version of Coghlan that can start half your games between platoon advantage and guys getting days off. A little like the Dodgers are using Van Slyke, for example.

Production wise, I think the positive outcome is something resembling Rusty Greer, adjusting for era of course.

i know he's played some CF, although it's believed that he's below average out there. i would think that an outfield of hannemann, almora and mckinney would be really good defensively.

In a nutshell, his draft report states great hitter and projects power if he bulks up, but his defensive tools were average at best.

He doesn't project to add too much power which is why so many people are wondering if he can play CF.
