His overall contact rate is 68.7% (24 games, 103 PA).

70.8% for May

last year it was 62.9% in Iowa

As an aside, where do you find monthly splits for ML contact rates?

He's fixed, trade Castro.

the emotional meatball side of me agrees

Wouldn't the more logical thing to do be have Baez take Coghlan's spot and put either Bryant or Baez in LF?

I've posted this elsewhere, but it's worth repeating here.

Baez July 2014: .300/.344/.655/.999, 24% K%, 7% BB%, 69% contact

Baez May 2015: .321/.402/.536/.938, 23% K%, 9% BB%, 71% contact

I'd much rather see Coghlan take an AB. That's what the meatball side of me thinks, at least.

Thanks; I somehow overlooked the option to select splits for a specific year.

Just for the sake of pointing it out...Bryant is grading out as a positive defender at 3B. The reason he's an overall negative rating defensively is his ludicrously bad rating in the OF in a ludicrously small sample.

The offense is much better off with Coghlan than Castro right now.

I have been pleasantly surprised with his defense. Occasionally doesn't look smooth but has been looking very good.

That said, I still think moving Baez to the OF over him (in the long term, that is - in the short term I understand not wanting to rock the boat as much and making sure Javy's bat can stick without displacing Bryant) seems like a crazy idea.

To TT's point, I definitely want to see Baez continue this production for a while before giving him another shot at MLB. That said...

If we assume for a moment that Bryant keeps crushing, Addison continues progressing, and Baez shows even more improvement...I'm hoping we trade Castro for pitching and trade for an LF.

Unless Castro turns it around soon, wouldn't that probably entail trading Castro for less than he's worth?

Alternatively, if Castro can't turn it around soon does that mean that he's worth less than you think?

Yes, the quotes look fine in tapatalk. They are mangled everywhere else. There's a long thread about it in the global announcements.
