Alright so his first 2 games coming back he scuffled hard. Probably was rusty just came back from his family matters... so taking those 2 games (2 of 14) out, the 12 games since then he has put up this hashline

BB HR RBI AVG OBP SLG OPS

5 2 5 .302 .390 .465 .855

looks like even tho his power is lower than his entire milb history he has increase his obp recently so his over all ops is lower but he is getting on base more.. hmm i hope baez keeps up this trend. trades get interesting?

Yeah, that's minimally encouraging but now we have to worry about him becoming Jon Singleton if he's putting up that kind of hashline.

I agree; hopefully he gets traded.

if you're hopeful about something, why wouldn't you be hopeful that he realizes his monstrous potential as a power hitting MIF with an incredibly exciting hitting style you monster?

THAT'S what you hope for. not trading for some dumb ass pitcher.

would you believe Jon Singleton has 4 HR & 18 RBI in his last 3 games for Fresno

Frankly, I'd be pretty thrilled with an .855 OPS from a middle infielder that provides strong defense and baserunning.

Where in that I post did I say trade him for a pitcher? I'd much rather he be in a trade for a monster bat.

I hope he and Starlin improve; package them for Stanton.

if i thought bryant had a chance in hell of staying at 3B in the long term, sure.

Yeah, he's a pretty white guy sprouting dongs; nobody cares about his [expletive] throws. They can plant him there forever and nobody will say anything. Edited by Sammy Sofa

Bryant's defense at 3B has been at least acceptable so far. Why would you think he doesn't have the ability to get better than that? Clearly, he's athletic enough to handle it.

Yeah no kidding that's top 5 MLB production out of a 2B. Highest 2B OPS in 2014 was .836 from Cano. I'm not seeing how this would be anything other than an awesome line from Baez.

The metrics have actually improved since I last checked, when they were pretty bad. Nevertheless, I'd rather have a good fielder at 3B and LF which would seem easy enough to accomplish (whatever the alignment) with a realized Javy.

At the same time, subjectively speaking, he hasn't looked very good to me. The throwing thing is an issue. He has admittedly made some nice plays too, though.

But yeah, if he can maintain his performance where it is over the long haul, go ahead and trade them for Stanton. I suppose I stand corrected for now.

huh?

i guess what it comes down to is whether bryant in LF and a good baez (or russell with baez at 2B or something) at 3B nets you more runs than stanton in LF (not a very good OF) and bryant at 3B

Come on, that was a pretty sweet pithy comment about baseball fan/media racism. He'd have to be an absolute butcher over there for anyone to really call him out on it...especially with him legging out infield singles? He could turn around and kill someone behind the Cubs dugout with a ball to the face and somebody like Rozner or Kaplan wouldn't say anything about moving him off of 3B.

Jesus, reboot or something. It's just a joke. I don't give a flying [expletive] where he plays.
