Rizzo may well be the best hitter not named Trout, Stanton or Harper. And it's about time Maldonado did something bad.

Huge run

Things really aren't nearly as bad as they seem right now

They're not in terms of the wild card, but going .333 against terrible teams is a great way to piss away what little chance you have at winning a division. You only get so many shots at bad teams.

that's such a tedious way of viewing a 162 game season.

Most especially when they just illustrated they're a single play in a still-going game from turning .333 to .500. Get a grip, people.

At what point are you actually concerned about how far behind you are? It's a long season but St. Louis isn't getting any worse.

Let's see, 22-9 adds up to a nearly .710 winning %. Do you see the Cards winning 115 games? No? Me either.

Montero is bad vs LH pithcing, but Szczur hasn't done anything to make me want to give him the opportunity there. Oh well, Joe made his call

I still have faith in Strop and Rondon putting up 0's in the 8th and 9th but after that, there's nobody I trust in not giving up a run. Gotta score next half inning.
