It's pretty clear they've reached the Doug Collins/Larry Brown/Scott Skiles point where players have just stopped listening and a change needs to be made. Not necessarily anyone's fault, but Thibs is just one of those guys that will have a short shelf life no matter where he goes unless he changes his approach a bit.

And ultimately I am ready to move on from Thibs; I think most of reasoning for getting rid of him is the epitome of meatball slobbering, but the strength of the core the Bulls should be focusing on is their offensive ability, and Thibs is ultimately just too limited in that regard.

That's not clear at all.

The complete and utter lack of effort once things started going downhill in that game didn't make that clear to you? Because that was exactly what that looked like to me.

And I think this is the single biggest reason why it went bad.

No, I don't think the players suddenly gave up on the coach and the season halfway through the second quarter in a tied playoff elimination game just because they didn't like his offensive approach. Don't confuse failing with lack of effort.

I think they failed because as talented as they are, these are players who often need to be coached offensively to maximize what they can do and Thibs simply isn't the best option for that. The Bulls don't have a star player who can just take charge out there and direct things. They can win with the core they have, but a defensive-focused coach isn't going to get what they need from the offense.

Did Thibs completely control the offense? He needs an offensive guru as an assistant coach it seems.

Weird that a few days after the last Bulls game a story would come out like that, which makes it seem like Thibs can't manage two star players on the same roster. It's almost like someone is trying to make him look bad!

Whatever. I'm done with the Thibs/Rose whisperering and needing somebody to translate what's going on with the both of the them. Time to hit the reset button and see what a different coaching staff can do. Is a team willing to take Noah's expiring deal?
