Sucks this wasn't a night game, like most Saturday games seem to be everywhere but Wrigley and/or if it's a national broadcast game (which this wasn't).

The Reds make an effort to stage all Saturday games in April during daytime hours.

 

No rain in Cincinnati for the last two hours. Radar clear now. Appeared that Maddon was not pleased with the field, but it's a state-of-the art setup that drains very well. Since it was the Reds' call, it appears that they wanted to bypass the Marquis start more than they wanted to keep the huge gate. It would have put the screws to the fans, but they could have safely played with a 7 p.m. (Eastern) start IMHO.
