If he gets called up after this game, he'll have OPS'd over 1.000 at every stop except his 2 game stint in AZ to begin his pro career.

lol remember when he struck out in his first like 5 PA and everyone was horrified

trevor clifton came out of the bullpen and pitched a solid inning after his first south bend start was a train wreck. gave up a double but no runs allowed and struck out one.

cj edwards still seems kind of broken. gave up single, walk, and double before settling down with a ground out and two strikeouts.

Null was strong again: 6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 6/0 K/BB, 0 HR

That gives him 11 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 13/0 K/BB, 0 HR on the young season

cael brockmeyer seems too advanced for south bend.

armando rivero sure doesn't look like he wants to be called up.

Agreed.

He's overmatched. Send him back to Boise. @MDGonzales Bryant grounds to short in first AB

so trade him to colorado, who will then send him down to their short-season A-ball affiliate?

[expletive] desipio, [expletive] them right in the face.

13K/0BB/0HR is a rather nice profile. The beauty of small sample size, of course. But it kinds of fits both with his small-sample last summer, and his college profile. No idea what the guy has in terms of off-speed stuff, or fastball movement. (I thought he was supposed to be a 2-seam guy, but he's not been notably ground ball-oriented in these first two starts.)

K/BB/control has a sort of Hendricks-ish feel. Heh heh, beauty of small sample! Hendricks did it league after league after league for four years straight, a little different from doing it for two starts in April. :)

But he's interesting until sample appears to the contrary. And as for Hendricks, Null throws harder.

Maybe he's still getting used to coming out of the pen/adjusting his routine? Idk, I'm looking for something. 2ks and a GO after that start tells me his stuff is likely fine or close to it (i.e. he's not broken).

i'm more concerned about the loss of command. nearly half his pitches were balls, and his command was decidedly worse after he came back from injury last year than it had been in the lower minors.
