sontensei thinks your son needs to stop listening to you and change his stance.

YES.

He made some adjustments. the stance is basically the same but his posture is better he isnt dropping his right shoulder.. still, he needs to tweak the angle just a tad to hit more liners. he has had a lot of moonshot barely over the fence homers at home. he doesn't get the same luxury on the road in most cases. still i've said all along he is a great player. but he can be even better, which is scary.

It took me a few sentences to realize you weren't actually critiquing the 12 year old.

It wasn't until two POSTS later that I realized he was indeed sontensei actually critiquing Bryant and not hogg breaking down his son's swing. Unreal.

and all this time i thought you just really liked dukes of hazzard, i didn't think hogg was your real last name

I assume your name must be Ocket.

Because his is from Arkansas I assumed it had something to do with the state university.

Yeah, I assumed it was some terrible southern thing.

So much to catch up on. . . .

The spawn of Bhogg has the stance, but doesn't hit dingers at the same rate as Bryant.

I've been on NSBB for 10+ years. . . . I'm OLD BALLS

Cannot believe you are surprised at the Hogg name. As you might imagine, I get my fair share of "boss hogg" references. As fate would have it, the real boss hogg is my dad. . . he's the Sheriff in a small county in southeast arkansas.

I'm all for sending Ryno the KB cake, but so far I've not found a legit Sandberg social media account. Truth be told, he probably still has a myspace page.

I know I'm just rambling, but I don't think I'll ever cease to marvel at the remarkable set of circumstances that brought Kris Bryant into our lives. How he pretty much came out of nowhere months before the draft. How until then, the 2013 draft pool consisted of Mark Appel, Jonathan Gray, and other. And how weeks before the draft, Gray was suspended for use of a banned substance, which turned out to be Ritalin or something; if not, it would have been him selected with the #2 pick. There's only one explanation as to how this came to be: divine intervention.

Also he hit 31 home runs in 62 games in the months leading up to the draft.

I don't remember them having all that much interest in Gray, maybe I'm wrong. I thought it was Appel, Manaea (before he got hurt) and Bryant was kinda always linked to them.

Manaea had some injury concerns and that's the reason he fell to the sandwich first round picks, if i remember correctly

Yep, Manaea and Appel were the early frontrunners, and Bryant(and to a lesser extent Gray) ascended with their great junior seasons while Manaea tumbled.

fWAR at 5.2. With a good final month, he'll get to 6 wins. Brett said it's only been done by a rookie 3 times since 2000.
