3105 yds/24 tds/14 ints/91.2 rating

if people told you that those would be Jay's numbers after 12 games, you'd be [expletive] ecstatic, right? Jay's not at fault at all, here. barring injury, he's going to finish with 30+ tds and 4,000 yards with around 15-17 ints

I think you gotta account for Jays fumbles as that causes a big hit to his overall efficiency over a "normal" QB.

Also re: Clements, I though Philbin was the QB whisperer there.

McCarthy's the "QB whisperer" there...whatever the hell that means.

i'm through with rooting for my team to lose for draft position or for coach accountability, but damn, why couldn't Emery have hired a real quarterback whisperer like Tom [expletive] Clements? Why hasn't he gotten a head job yet?

Probably for the same reasons everyone but the Bears thought Trestman as a head coach was a bad idea.

the thing is, if you want their particular ability, sometimes you have to be willing to give them a promotion in order to get them.

And a lot of times you have to bite the bullet and move on when that person isn't more than a really good coordinator at best and they're not willing to settle for anything less than head coach.

It depends on how you construct the staff and if you can withhold any power from them.

Josh McCown had exactly half the attempts last season that Cutler's had to this point, and doubling his output:

3658 yds/26 tds/2 ints/109 rating

it should be exceedingly easy to produce with Marshall, Jeffrey, Forte, Bennett as your receivers

Yeah McCown was the best QB in the league.

McCown's brief moment of success is just one of those freak things that you just can't compare anything or anyone too. By no logical stretch of the imagination should it have occurred, yet somehow it did, and there's no good reason or way to explain it. Edited by Sammy Sofa

MEL TUCKER.

Completely out of context, but still funny.

Hahaha.

Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) will play tonight.

Explanation of the gif that kind of ruins it....

Peanut is shaking his head because the refs ruled that they couldn't review a fumble, or something. It has nothing to do with Tucker. But we can all pretend otherwise cuz it's funnier.

Keep forgetting this game is on tonight. I think that 2009 MNF game against the Vikings was the last time I was this unexcited about a Bears primetime game.

Oh I was too focused on Tucker. Was he saying "Stand Down"?

Looks like "Second Down" to me.

Hah. It's awesome on more than one level.

Have we ever played 2 Thursdays in a row?

I would have missed tonight if I didn't look at this thread today.

I'm trying to figure out if a team has ever played three non-Sundays in a row.
