Others do it but it happens more in the SEC. Texas HS coaches are a very tight knit group. Hopefully Mullen is never allowed back in a school here again.

Five Thirty Eight ran numbers for the playoff participants, and projects only 10 teams that realistically have a shot at this point to get into the playoff: Alabama, Oregon, FSU, Ohio State, TCU, Baylor, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia and UCLA.

I'll look, but I imagine that UGA and UCLA would take an act of God to get in.

Win conference championship, have two of FSU/OSU/B12 champ lose again, and they're in.

That's quite a bit of help.

Georgia needs to beat Georgia Tech, have Missouri lose, beat Bama/Miss St and have at least two of Oregon/FSU/TCU/Baylor/OSU lose (if not three if both Bama and Miss St win their last two games).

UCLA needs to beat USC, beat Stanford, beat Oregon and have three of Bama/FSU/Miss St/Baylor/TCU/OSU lose.

I didn't say it was a good chance, just a 5% chance.

Why they doing gameday at this yale harvard game instead of USC-UCLA? This is stupid.

Because ESPN has no fucks to give about west coast teams

College GameDay is stupid. That's like getting upset about what someone said on Around the Horn.

FSU would have to lose twice.

No, one loss would probably dump them behind those two 2-loss teams.

David Hale wrote a great article about how we have a more solid claim to #1 than the media portrays this week:

But, yeah, a loss will put us out of the race for the playoff based upon the media treatment we've received this year and the general angst against us. Heck, I'm pretty certain that we're going to be the #4 seed and play Bama in NOLA if al the top teams keep winning.

It has nothing to do with media portrayal and angst, and more to do with FSU not looking impressive at all this season, and none of their competition looking impressive at all either.

Don't sully the issue with facts.

Holy smokes, that FSU blog post is 100% nonsense. Opponents coming off by weeks? Flipping first and second half margin of victory? Was that a well constructed parody?

Ohio State...are going to punish their opponents today

Nailed it

It's the Ryne Ween stink. Seems to happen every other week at least. Fully expect Oklahoma State to stay with Baylor for a while also.

Here are some facts that I will post again:

Last year FSU beat their opponents by an average of 39.4 points. This year they are beating their opponents by an average of 14.2 points. Last year through 10 games they gave up 111 points. This year through 10 games they've given up 228 points. The only teams they have beaten by more than two TD's are Wake, The Citadel, and Syracuse.

Florida State has 0 wins over ranked teams. End of story. No amount of stat-twisting is changing that.

ETA: Forgot Louisville jumped into the CFP rankings today. One win over #24 Louisville.
