Probably a busy week on the waiver wire with these teams on a bye. By my count there are 10 players probably drafted in the top 25 picks in most leagues off this week. Another handful are probably starting for over 60% of the league. Both my money leagues I'm without my top 2 picks this week. Luckily everyone else has good players out too.

So, anybody got some deep TE sleepers that I can pick up for 1 week. Right now, I'm looking at Mychal Rivera or Jace Amaro. Thoughts on who to put in a waiver claim for?

As for WR claim? I'm looking at:

Mike Evans @ Clev

Bowe v. Jets

R Cooper @ Hou

LaFell vs Denver

Allen Robinson @ Cin

John Brown v Dallas

i'm buying into LaFell; for the past month, he's a top-10 WR in standard scoring and looks to have a clear role as a more vertical threat in that offense now, coming at Edelman's expense, it seems

There's potential there, but he's wildly inconsistent. 23, 3, 25, 9, and 29 over the last 5 weeks in my league. Definitely worth a shot to cover for a bye week though. Evans would be my 2nd choice of that list.

I have nearly half my team on a bye so no real choices to make though I feel pretty confident in my lineup anyways with the two primary subs being Terrence Williams and DeSean Jackson at Flex/WR.

That being said I am contemplating some waiver wire moves.

Thinking Suisham or Dawson as my new kicker (Suisham I'd have to replace one more time with a week 12 bye).

Wanting a new RB or 2 as backups. All done with bye weeks for my top 3 after this week, but not much depth. Have a claim for Alfred Blue. Any other deep sleepers or handcuffs worth considering at RB? I'm gonna put a claim on Cin D otherwise for my "D by committee" as they have a good looking schedule. I'm sure they'll be a popular claim this week though with Jac and I'm 9 on the waiver order.

Also tempted to put a claim in at WR for LaFell even though my WR need is pretty low.

ETA if I go D over another RB now I'm thinking Ravens, with this playoff lineup Min, Jac, Hou, Cle.

Raw - I agree w/sneaky on Lafell. John Brown would be my backup choice.

Wrigley - is Charles Sims available in your league? Might be coming off the IR this week for TB. Not sure if he'll have an impact this week but an interesting guy to look at going forward as they seem to prefer him to Martin/Rainey.

As for me I need to wait for a few waiver things to go through tomorrow before I can post about which RBs/WRs I should start, but could use some QB help in both my money leagues:

League 1:

Dalton vs. JAX

Roethlisberger vs. BAL

League 2:

Roethlisberger vs. BAL

Newton vs. Saints

Sims is available, good call. I have a weird obsession with lining up my D so I'd also consider Sims and dropping either Dixon (Buf) or Matt Ryan who I don't really need anymore but in theory could have keeper value as I picked him up cheap.

All that said I have a extra roster spot I'm losing if Pierre Thomas is upgraded at all, and I'd have to decide between him and any new add.

I'm putting in a FAAB claim on Lorenzo Taliaferro and planning on dropping James Jones for him in my 14-team league. Assuming I win the bid (which I may not because I've blown most of my budget already), I'm not crazy, right?

For context, I'm stocked at WR (Demaryius, Hilton, Maclin, Hopkins, Terrance Williams) and short at RB (at present, just Ben Tate and Ronnie Hillman, with Isaiah Crowell as a Tate handcuff). Ideally, the only time I'll be playing Taliaferro (or Jones, if I didn't win the bid) will be Week 10, when both my flex-starting WRs are off.

Andre Williams vs IND

or

Forsett @ PIT (him getting his TD's vultured is pissing me off)

Also for QB 2

RG3 @ MIN

or

Smith vs NYJ

Williams and Smith, until Colts prove they can make a stop and RG3 proves he's healthy.

Waiver Wire

In a keeper league and I can have two of these three

Charles Sims (9th round)

Bishop Sankey (5th round)

Davante Adams (9th round)

Cost of keeping each player is in parenthesis. I also might have to pick somebody up to play this week if Gio or AJ Green can't go, so I would need Sims in that case.

alright with Byes i've got the following starting in one league this week:

RB - Chris Ivory

RB - Ronnie Hillman

WR - Demaryius Thomas

WR - Mike Wallace

Got James Jones in Flex right now. Should I start Charles Sims in his place if he goes this week?

Second question, PPR league:

WR - AJ Green (or Sanu if Green doesn't end up going)

WR - Should I start Sanu vs. Jax even if Green goes, Andrew Hawkins vs. TB or James Jones @ SEA?

Flex - One of those WRs, or Forsett @ PIT?

Hawkins averages 12.3, Forsett 13.9, Sanu 16.0, and Jones 13.1 in this league.

Right now in this league I'm leaning Green/Hawkins if Green goes and Forsett at flex but would love other opinions.

Better for team B, and probably by a decent margin if Cooks continues to progress with Graham healthy.

Probably go with Jones in the 1st. I like the sure thing over a guy coming off injury, even though the sure thing isn't that good.

Green, Hawkins, Forsett if Green plays.

good heavens that's just a red carpet rolled out for him

that said, the first two positions are each sort of comparable and Ertz to Thomas is a monumental upgrade

question: is Edelman droppable?

with Gronk blowing up, LaFell's been great, Vereen is involved, Wright's there too...he's kind of a lesser Keenan Allen it's starting to seem like; just running those stupid crossing routes, piling up meaningless targets to end up with useless 4/44/0 games

not only that, but with 2 WR spots and a flex, i can't see him being a top 3 option amongst this list:

Antonio Brown

Mike Wallace

Brandon LaFell

JOSH GORDON

Brown's Bye coincides with Gordon's return, and i'll have to flex a RB during LaFell's bye regardless, so i'm not seeing a situation where i'll need to play him going forward

note: i'd probably pick up a speculative RB like Rainey or stash a dropped stud IDP on a bye to replace his spot

can you just trade edelman for a slightly better speculative rb or something? i don't like edelman much at all, but i don't think i'd call him straight droppable.

brees looked super determined to throw the ball to stills on thursday, which sort of scared me away from colston forever. i think i'd lean team b.

Thanks, Tree and Butters.

Not a keeper league, but this other manager was crushing hard on Wallace for some reason. Tannehill can't throw a long ball to save his life, so Wallace's upside is sort of limited IMO. Johnson isn't as dynamic, but they target him 10-12 times a game. In a PPR league I think I slightly prefer Johnson over Wallace, but to me it's a toss up. Plus I like Johnson's matchups in weeks 15/16 more than Wallace's. Almost a lock to reach the 4-team playoff.

I had Colston for two weeks and watched both games. Like Tree said, between Graham, Cooks, Stills, etc. there just isn't a lot revolving around Colston. I don't even think he's "boom-or-bust". I think on good weeks he'll put up marginal numbers and other weeks he'll be essentially non-existent (like the last two weeks).

I picked up Wheaton with an extra bench spot this week so I now have both him and Bryant. I'm hoping one of the two sets themselves apart as the clear no. 2 in Pittsburgh (appears that Bryant is heading that way). I could be reading too much into the huge game last week, but I think the no. 2 WR in Pittsburgh could be a difference maker going down the stretch.

I've got a close projected game this week with a few starters already giving lackluster performances. I think I'll need a big week out of a few of the remaining guys. One of them is Peyton Manning who may be playing in terrible field conditions with a lot of wind and has historically been not-so-great in those conditions (as anyone has).

My backup option is Eli Manning tomorrow night against Indy at home. Do I go to him this week for the better chance at a big scoring week? I'm mostly worried about the Eli dud game which seems more likely than one out of Manning, even given the weather. I also have 3 of my 5 other starters remaining going in the early game and my opponent has 5/7, so I could wait and see if I'm trending ahead or just go with Eli regardless.

Thoughts?

Ugh. My dumb ass played a hunch and went with Allen Robinson. I had a feeling a WR would go off against Cincy (seem to give up a big WR game every week) but it was Hurns who went off. My 2nd choice would have been Mike Evans. 7.5 points to 27.5 points.

I also picked Amaro over Rivera. 0 points to 25 points.
