Bespekkled? You mean bespectacled? Good grief Ripken.

#bespekkled will now be used to describe Addison Russell.

these playoffs are pretty easy to read if you just assume that whatever the cardinals would want to happen is fated.

dodgers in round one and they get to drill puig with no repercussions and puig is horrible and gets benched.

thereafter, they get to sweep the local rival royals for 85 ws revenge.

why would anything else happen?

I think it's fair to ask if the Royals will ever lose again in the history of their franchise

The Royals are going to eck out a pennant - maybe even a title - and Ned Yost is going to get 95% of the credit. Think about that

most are well aware of what a moron yost is and that this success is in spite of him

the plaschkes and [expletive] will always be what they are so who cares

If Royals lose they have a legit reason to be angry with the home plate umpire.

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like in playoff time, the quality of the home plate umpire has been horrendous.

That's not entirely true. Even some sabermatricians are Ned apologists. The bulk of his work when it comes to bunting/stealing/calling for intentional walks is actually about average. He has just used the bunt in some high profile situations where it was clearly the wrong call and has been skewered for it. Also, while I hate giving away outs, the success rate at which the Royals steal... You can't tell me they are not better off overall for all their steal attempts.

Finally, he hates the media and says some pretty dumb stuff that I don't think even he believes because he will never put a loss on the players. So, you get answers like "he's the sixth inning guy" to explain why he used Aaron Crow in the biggest situation of the game instead of Herrera or Davis. However, he doesn't always stick to his "innings guys." He has gone to his best relievers in tight spots lately. Yost is doing pretty well for what he has been given and where they play.

He does manage the bullpen pretty well minus one big issue: he does not take his "big" starters out soon enough when they are playing with fire and getting away with it. He will do it to the young guys, but not Shields and Vargas.

This is so surreal. The bandwagon is pretty full down here. Although late nite at the phog distracted a lot of my friends tonight.

While I wouldn't say I've jumped on the bandwagon considering I've been following Royals since 2006 and go to well over 20 games a year since moving here, this article makes it look like I've jumped on for people who know me. Full disclosure, I told this guy I was a Cubs fan that really gets into the Royals as well. He decided not to include that part (don't blame him). This article ran in the KC Star as well, but you have to be a subscriber to read it on their website.
