Had a feeling the Bucs would have trouble this year when they couldn't do anything with two early home games with Newton-less Carolina and St. Louis. Going to get ugly quickly for Tampa.

Making a career backup your starting QB is generally a bad idea (Jake Delhomme notwithstanding).

Hey do you guys remember when people thought McCown was a starting QB?

Having 2 #1 WRs can make you look pretty good. Problem is, most teams don't have 2 #1 WRs.

His receivers now are nothing to sneeze at.

Still got Mike Glennon who lost his starting job the day McCown was signed.

Josh McCown 2004 is his #1 comparable on football outsiders http://www.footballoutsiders.com/player/39342/mike-glennon

I thought the McCown signing was a very good one when it was first announced - figured he'd be a quality backup for Glennon and would be able to help him develop.

Then they announced McCown as the starter and I realized things weren't going to go well.

Jackson is good, but not close to Marshall and only maybe comparable to Jeffrey. Evans is a nice rookie, but was successful in college because he was bigger than everybody else. That's not the case now.

I don't mean to talk either down - I like both. They're just not the Marshall/Alshon combo.

yeah, tampa's giant receivers recreating last year's bears situation was a big part of the selling point for why mccown was not a disastrous idea.

benching a guy for a fumble is such a dumb, meatball move; you felt this guy was your best option at the start of the game

Especially for multiple series. Lovie is meatball defined.

I just don't think they're as talented as the Bears' duo. Maybe I'm being too harsh, though.

I think most everyone would take Marshall and Jeffrey.

I understand why we didn't resign Hester but it's sad to see him doing his thing while our return game is in shambles. Also surprised Trestman couldn't find a way to work him into the offense.

To be honest I thought he was just done as a game changing player

McCown out for the game. If Glennon does anything McCown may be done as a starter. Poor guy.

He was welcome back in CHI as a solid backup, right?

Yeah I feel a little bad for him. But not too much.
