Like midseason, I thought Masterson would be a great buy-low candidate for Bosio. Now I don't want him even if he paid PTR a million to play.

He seriously may have cost himself like 70M in guaranteed money by not taking an extension with Cleveland

He approached the Indians about an extension and the team said no.

is this accurate (i could check but i'm too lazy)? and is he penciling in today's game already?

Has anyone realized how good Cubs pitching has been lately? Cubs have allowed 2 ER or less in 10 of their last 13 games winning all 10.

Assuming he's counting this game...

Math is off I think. I don't see 10 wins. And they lost the previous three before i cut the graphic off

Someone tweeted that no team, including the Cardinals, had hit more than 2HR's in a single game at Busch this season until this series.

Yeah I think he's not quite right. But the point that the pitching has been good is right, they have a team ERA of 3.02 over the last 30 days and a 3.30 ERA in the 2nd half. That's good for 5th best ERA over the 30 day stretch and 11th in the 2nd half in all of MLB. If we could get the pitching to perform at the 11-15th best ERA next year with this offense, I like our chances.

The more these crazy facts roll in the more in love with this team I am. And it's only going to get better.

I'm on mobile and too lazy to look up if this is true, but I feel like the bullpen has been really good since around the ASB.

That's insane if true. Someone on gateway redbirds was saying (jokingly?) that the presence of ballpark village has somehow made it harder to hit HRs there.

that would be the one

So.....I thought someone started tomorrow's before starting tonight's. Silly me

well that kinda would be a silly thing to think rather than to think somebody just made a mistake on this rare occasion that the subsequent game thread is for the same day as the previous

Low 90's

Yep, that's what the stadium gun was showing too.

The silence was deafening most of the day and the stands emptied out after about the 6th inning. The replay call in the first inning I saw from the bleachers in CF. Just the way he slid in vs. how the tag was applied made it look pretty obvious to me. Also, if you didn't see on tv, Soler was on deck when Baker made the last out in the 9th.

Great game to go to. Glad it got rained out in May!
