I always liked Jon Lieber for some reason. I was at Wrigley for the back to back one hitters from him and Kerry Wood.
He was very good for several yrs and very likable for some reason.

still remember how pissed an aol friend of mine was that we traded stud prospect doug glanville for morandini

i was all like eh glanville is 28 and he doesn't really get on base much anyway

i felt so vindicated for arguing with him about it when morandini went out and had an awesome year

I remember Vance Law. Thought he was going to be awesome and with that last name, (I was a kid) it was "Laying the Law down!" I vaguely remember the "Long arm of the Law" as well.

I liked Vance Law as a kid simply because he wore big dorky glasses like I did.

Side note: I went to Cubs convention one time and I got one autograph: Vance Law.

This is entirely due to my:

a) not being an autograph hound (I've subsequently realized there is little other reason to attend said convention) and

b) remembering how strongly I identified with him being bespectacled.

I was disappointed to find him wearing contact lenses.

I got his too. Shortest line. It's a nice signature, actually.

steve buechele

I was a Buechele fan. Slick-fielding, no hit third baseman. Tony Pendleton without the bat.

Terry's older, less successful brother.

This is great.
