Kane County postponed. Doubleheader tomorrow. Hopefully they split up Johnson and Tseng and let them each start tomorrow.

Jose Paulino gets the start for Mesa in their season opener.

Jorge Soler is batting cleanup and has a double, facing fellow rehabber Archie Bradley. Gleyber Torres leading off, Eloy Jimenez not in the lineup.

Iowa hase become the place where prospects go to die....except Alcantara.

And despite his success, his K and BB rates make me wince a bit.

They've been improving in each successive month. 3 BB/20 K in April, 8 BB/30 K in May, 7 BB/17 K in June, 5 BB/6 K in his last 10 games. When players are in their first season at a particular level progression is key, slow starts can be taken with a grain of salt.

Soler can't not hit doubles. 9 hits so far this season, 8 of them are doubles.

Wonder what's going on, as he's clearly not in the DR.

Probably just getting a chance to watch. Gleyber showed himself to be ready in EXST, Jimenez not so much.

That would be an incredible waste of a season.

Soler being there kind of screws up the playing time. FYI, the guy starting in LF today, Ricardo Marcano, had a worse ExST than Eloy (.190/.300/.207 vs .261/.289/.402).

ETA: Heck, Manny isn't playing either (clearly Soler's is more important than Eloy or Manny and I can't imagine Manny can play anywhere besides DH).
