GIS.

That was a really bad idea while sitting in an airport restaurant.

Oddly enough, while cheerleaders have Brazilians, Brazil does not have cheerleaders.

I beg to differ after doing the suggested GIS search and quickly shutting it down after stern looks from the table next to me.

But Im already sick of people talking about how soccers “The Worlds Game” which just makes such perfect since because, in case you missed it, the World sucks. 99% of countries in the world arent the USA and they all run Obamacare. They took the absoluyte suckiest part of USA and decided to make it the best part of there country. Its like if someone made a sequel to “Deepthroat” and the entire film was just hairy guys’ faces wincing and your mom walking in on you.

yeah, no [expletive] ties.

and no, they're not [expletive] draws.

ps - I like beer.

I'd like to see them go to 7 vs. 7 in OT to open up more space. Anything to avoid the shoot out which is the dumbest thing in sports because it should be the best thing ever but actually sucks.

Should be like hockey playoffs where they just have to man up and keep playing until someone scores.

When hockey players actually play more than 50% of the game and do so playing outside and dealing with the elements and not in a climate controlled arena, then we can talk.

When soccer players spend all that "100%" doing more than jogging around, we can talk.

Yes, because hockey players don't move at anything less than full speed the entire time they're on the ice.

You are the one suggesting soccer players do a hell of a lot more than they actually do while playing.

I'm saying the people who think soccer should scrap the penalty shootout and just keep playing until somebody scores because that's the way hockey does it are stupid. It's a dumb argument and it doesn't make sense when you actually sit and think about it for a few seconds.

30 seconds in and the announcers are already comparing one of the coaches to winston churchill

what happened to the thread?

everyone was calling this the world cup gam thread anyway so i changed it

is there a three point shot yet?

I can never keep straight whether it's college that has a two-point conversion but not the pros, or the other way around.

Or maybe I'm confusing it for some quirky rule they have just in Canadian soccer. Anyway, rules consistency please.

Maybe after injury time is over, they loosen the substitution rules or something, allowing a team to empty the bench of fresh players. Or at least play a full extra half (45 minutes) rather than the 30 minutes. Ending a world championship on a shootout will never be OK to me.

Did you know the world cup was being played at soldier field in the winter after two concerts, a high school game and college game the day before?
