White Sox selected Montes de Oca right before our pick.

We took Chesny Young, a 2B from Mercer U.

He was in Scout.com's list of 292-546th best prospects (only the top 291 are ranked). Kiley McDaniel listed him as a shortstop.

Here's a more detailed list of tough prep signs available - all will likely need 7 figures:

RHP Keith Weisenberg (Standord commit)

RHP Jacob Bukauskas (UNC)

LHP Mac Marshall (LSU)

RHP Bryce Montes de Oca (Mizzou)

RHP Keaton McKinney (Arkansas)

RHP Cobi Johnson (Florida)

RHP David Peterson (Oregon)

3B Sean Bouchard (UCLA)

OF Jeren Kendall (Vandy)

C JJ Schwarz (Florida)

College guys I like, won't be too expensive:

AJ Vanegas, RP, Stanford

Jordan Brink, P, Fresno State

Tanner English, CF, South Carolina

Does anyone have information on OF Jeren Kendall (Vandy commit)? He lives nearby (Holmen, WI) and I think he was expecting to get drafted Friday. I haven't heard anything about signability issues.

He definitely has signability questions which is why he has fallen. He's universally ranked as a top 100 prospect. Vanderbilt generally does really well getting most of their commits on campus.

Cool page on Kevonte. Wish HS stats were reliable. Kid is apparently a really good athlete.

Google has an awful lot on the kid.

No idea how many HR he has, but Kennett is in our conference and their field is enormous.

Edit: My brother-in-law is the head coach at a rival HS. Said they clocked him at 94 throwing third to first. Really fast. Smart hitter. Said he seems like he has a good personality... For what that worth.

14th rounder: Jeremy Null, RHP, Western Carolina 6'7" 225 lbs

BA had him at #441 in their top 500:

Null contributed from the moment he reached the Western Carolina campus as an unsigned 37th-round pick out of high school and has the fourth-highest strikeout total (265) in program history. He began the season strong and was a potential top-five-round pick, but injuries and reduced stuff caused him to finish the year slowly. Early on, Null was 90-92 mph and touched 93 while working downhill. But he was 85-88 down the stretch amid back troubles. While his slider showed plus potential early, it backed up closer to average with the reduced velocity. Some scouts say he throws his slider too frequently and believe it sapped his velocity. He rarely uses his changeup. Null is athletic for his 6-foot-8, 230-pound frame and throws a steady diet of strikes. He has a stiff, upright delivery with a short stride and arm action that puts stress on his shoulder and elbow. The total package should add up to a future reliever.

Also in the 17th: The Brewers took JJ Schwarz, a tough sign catcher committed to Florida (7-figure guy) who probably ends up at Gainesville. The Yankees took Garrett Cave, a very projectable RHP from Florida who I imagine will sign for about $500k.

Also, it looks like AJ Vanegas (Dodgers) and Karsten Whitson (Red Sox) went in the 11th round.

@NathanRode: #Cubs take 3B Kevonte Mitchell. Super raw, but thunder in the bat, lean frame that aces the eye test. Very quick hands. #mlbdraft
