He hurt his leg sliding to try and make the catch. It looks like he might've tweaked his hamstring, but can't be sure. He walked off gingerly with help from coaches.

Next year when we bring in the next crop of cast-off relievers, how about no one talks about how much better our bullpen is going to be.

 

If the offseason, the cubs sign Mike Adams and Koji Uehara, maybe take a flier on Joakim Soria, it's easy to imagine this bullpen being in much better shape next year.

I still wouldn't trust any of those guys.

I think the most incredible thing out of all this is that Veras is going to get another shot at closing.

 

The game would be over with a Cubs win if Castro could have picked up a grounder and stepped on 2nd. Veras isn't coming anywhere near the closer role for a while, plus Rondon or Grimm will get a shot before he does.
