Who was the defenseman on that? I've got to believe there would have been a better way to play that than putting his knees together and just kind of going limp.

Perfect for Kane: built-in screen served right up for the game winner.

Shattenkirk I think. Kane made a good point, that Smith and Saad drove to the opposite post and gave him the room he needed. Smart play.

I have to think the previous goal was on Miller's mind too when the great pass was made by Oduya to Kane on the opposite side of Miller IIRC. Kaner took advantage of that and bought himself the room he needed to stick the puck in the net on the stick side.

I think he let him get in too deep without doing something. Trying a poke check earlier probably would have helped. Letting him drift to the the bottom of the circle and not do anything is not the right play. On the other hand it is Kane. Trying any kind of check could just leave you looking stupid on Sportscenter.

Miller should have come out a little bit but that's like saying Russell shouldn't have hung that curveball.

I think NUN was referring to Shattenkirk

Yeah, in my little non-hockey-expert mind, I was thinking Shattenkirk should have laid out to take away the low shot and give Miller a view.

Anyway, glad it worked out for us :).

Time to take one in the Evil City.

I always think of this guy when I see Ken Hitchcock.

And dammit I thought NBCSN wouldn't black out but they just flipped the switch. Stuck with the local goobers again.

I love this so much. Thanks, Kyle.

1st Period observations:

- Craw looks good

- Bickell continues his inexplicable playoff MVP caliber play

- Kane and Hoss are making the Blues crazy

- Sharp looks like he's pressing (no pun intended)

- Anytime Saad wants to start looking like a pro would be fine

- Stop the stupid penalties, please

I agree on Saad I know someone pointed out he has four points but he just doesn't seem to be doing much.

Felt like he should have taken the shot right there
