I'd rather win than lose, but it's gonna take more than a first-round loss to get me to feel angsty about this team. Flags fly forever.

And they are still very capable of winning this series.

So many negative emotions I'm dealing with. First the fact that were down 0-2. Then the fact that it's to a St. Louis team. Thn the fact that we were a combined 1:51 away from being up 2-0. Mix that in with the fact that the Hawks completely lost their composure and are decidedly the bad guys to everyone watching and the finally we are the bad guys and the good guys are laughing at us in victory anyways.

I feel like if we ever beat the Cards in the NLCS and even won the World Series, their fans would still mock and point to their 13 titles or whatever they have.

So I'll try the same approach. Which bums me out because I typically root for the Blues when they aren't playing the Hawks.

has a st louis team ever lost a playoff series to a chicago team?

Pretty sure the only St Louis team to play a Chicago team in the playoffs are the Blues and Hawks.

And we've beaten them in the playoffs before, though it has been awhile.

It's the Cubs fault I'm so angsty. The Bulls will be lucky to be playing in a month so I was counting on the Hawks to keep me invested in sports until June.

I think the Hawks are still okay. Obviously they have to win both back in Chicago, but its not like they have been greatly outplayed. Backes health going forward is going to be a question, sucks how it happened but it did. Also, pressure will go onto Blues to close the series out, can they handle it? Hawks have gotten limited scoring from their forwards, which you know is going to change. And overall I still think their PK has been great.

That's a good point about the forwards, and that could change if Backes is out because he and Toews cancel each other out so well. So since Seabrook is going to get a few, I hope Backes is at least out a few too.

As for Jersey's comment about caring too much about STL, obviously I lived there for a long time and their fans are annoying, Blues less than Cards but still. And Blues fans don't realize or don't care (I think they do realize and it makes them mad) that our rival was Detroit, not them.

Facebook has been fun today. "Typical Blackhawks. Playing dirty, because that's the only way they've ever been able to win. Too bad the Blues are better than that."

"If seabrook isn't suspended, Reaves will make him wish he was."

I'm sure I don't have to tell you this. Blues fans may be devoted, but they're not the brightest bunch.

I just got into it on a friend's wall with some dude I don't know. He kept trashing the Hawks, (saying both quotes above), so I finally stepped into it. Proved he was an idiot, etc. he replied "we're up 2-0. That's all I need to say."

That was an easy one to respond to. "When was the last time you had the Cup? Or won in the first round?"

Nice. Put that Ice Creeper in his place.

Lost in this Bickell is getting suspended for a game:

I didn't think that was that bad. He should have been more careful with his knee, but the St. Louis guy shouldn't have tried to dance like that. Take the hit and don't put yourself in harm's way with sprawling limbs.

@ChrisKuc: #Blackhawks' Brent Seabrook: "Hits have been laid like that from both sides the whole series. We’ll see what happens."

3 is fair. seabrook, bickell, and keith were all reaaallly dirty last night. especially keith. i also really hope that wasn't him saying "wakey wakey backes", but i'm pretty sure it was. even toews seemed to be chirping at backes as he was wobbling around.

i don't have much sympathy for backes or the blues since they ask for it, but i really do not enjoy being the bad guys. i don't understand why they're playing like the alain vigneault canucks all of a sudden. cheap shots, critical undisciplined penalties, and way too much talking.
