There was a power play? I didn't see anything to suggest the Hawks had an extra man on the ice.

And there's the first real scoring chance on a Hawks PP today. Of course it was a breakaway for the Blues and it injured two of our players but at least it was some action

Now 100 minutes without a goal for the Hawks despite 8 power plays during that time.

How long did the Hawks go without scoring against the Bruins last year? I think the Hawks scored in the 1st period of game 2, lost in OT, then got shut out in game 3 and scored 5 minutes or so into game 4. We've gotta be approaching that right now.

If we don't pick it up and make this a series I guess the lesson is teams that look like a fringe playoff team for the entire second half of the season can't just hit a switch and turn it on when the playoffs start even if they are the defending champs.

 

Or maybe it's just that if you are hoping the Hawks were just trying to get to the playoffs heathy and had an extra gear to use, they don't. But again it's only the 1st intermission of game 2, still time to turn it around. I'm just venting.

The lesson is you don't lower yourself to a tough team, just play your game. It works
