1) Is anyone else going?- no

2) Has anyone gone before? - yes

3) Approximate price of the trip?- it was 2005, can't remember

4) Is there a cost to attend the ceremonies, events, each day?- the induction is free, but it's GA lawn seating pretty far back.

5) Any cool restaurants, things to see while I'm in the area?- There's a lot of neat things in Cooperstown, but it's small. I was staying in Albany so I drove back and forth each day.

6) What were your experiences? I had a lot of fun. If you're into collecting autographs, a lot of hofers will be signing at shows, appearances, etc. Bring some money, cause those can get expensive.

7) Any other advice?- if you want to stay in Cooperstown, book now. Even now, you may not find a room.

I dont plan on staying in Cooperstown, planning on somewhere about 45 minutes away and drive in each day.

Not HOF related but, There are some fantastic breweries in the general area. Plan on taint a day and do a tour. You won't regret it.

This is the type of investigative reporting I was looking for!!

No, really... I definitely would like recommendations on the baseball and nonbaseball related activities to undergo while there!

Any brewery recommendations?

Ommegang is my favorite American brewery. More of a reason to go to Cooperstown than baseball.

7) Any other advice?

Don't go. Or at least give as little money as you can to the HOF when visiting. I will never step foot in the HOF/pay to be there.

I'm in complete agreement with this. I wont ever forgive them for what they did to Santo.

Cooperstown is a pretty cool place. Small town, if you're driving in possibly the best way to go is to park in one of the outlying parking lots(there are many) and take the bus(there are many) into town. The real action is 3-4 block area, easy to walk. Plenty of cool shops to browse but beware of price gouging and non-authentics for baseball unis. You can get personalized Louisville Slugger bats and all kind of things. Pete Rose is normally there in one of the stores signing stuff and shooting the breeze with anyone who will listen. I've seen some of the older HOFers just walking around, enjoying the town. Most are very approachable.

There is no charge for the HOF cermonies, but I think there is reserved seating upfront for VIP's and family members. Bring a hat because it can get hot.

Good eats at Schneider's Bakery for good donuts or the Cooperstown Diner(only about 25 seats) for breakie and lunch. Ommegary Brewery is a must and they do serve food. I'd recommend the Hawkeye Grill in the Otesaga Hotel for dinner. But no matter what, try to make reservations as soon as you can because the crowds are large. Warning: Avoid Dimaggio's Hot Dogs on the SW side of town at all costs. Their dawgs taste like Alpo and certainly not Chicago worthy.

I recommend you meet up with Vance at the HoF. He's good people.

Take your time in the museum. It will be crowded and you will be tempted to rush. Don't. Savor every little detail.
