At first glance, I was thinking Ben McDonald. Who knows? He could be quite a reclamation project.

I think it's got potential. A good "flyer", in this case.

I really like getting some of the non roster guys we signed this offseason actually. How would you rank these guys in order of likelihood, in making the 25 man roster? I'll put them this way.....

Ryan Roberts

James McDonald

Tsuyoshi Wada

Jonathan Sanchez

Chris Coghlan

Chris Baker

Chris Valaika

Darnell McDonald

Casper Wells

On the other end, I really like adding Kalish and Pimental, who I think can both contribute later on in the season.

Is Sanchez the guy who was good with SF for a while and then bombed with the Royals last year?

Yeah. We're going to look at him coming out of the pen.

I think Darnell is the McDonald with a better chance. He did pretty well at the plate last year and hits from the side we need help at. With Nate needing a platoon mate and lake being far from a guarantee it's basically Darnell or Vitters right?

Or Roberts, if Watkins gets kept. If Olt fails, I think our backups are Murphy, Roberts, Watkins, Ruggiano and Kottaras. If Olt makes it, I think we see a bench of Valbuena, Murphy or Watkins, Roberts, Kottaras, and Ruggiano.

With Roberts able to play so many spots, I don't see a 5th OFer as a necessity. If THEY do though, I agree McDonald has the best shot.

Remember when this card was worth $2.00?

Ben McDonald does in-studio ESPN college baseball analysis. It might be accentuate because he's sitting next to Keith Law but he sounds like such an idiot.

I like both of these signings. Both coming off bad, injury filled years but there stats are pretty similar. Hammel's 2012 puts him way ahead in career war, but the rest of the years are pretty even. Also kind of surprised Hammel is 31, always seemed like a kid.

Darnell is also James' cousin.

My only memory of Ben McDonald is the Upper Deck error card.
