Javy at 1 and that's no disrespect to KB, who does have the higher floor obviously. These two [expletive] had BOTH become perennial 5+WAR guys......And yes, I know thats unfair, but I actually see them doing it.

I'm not sure that's so obvious.

Bryant. I'm terrified Baez is going to be an epic bust.

I feel like Baez's floor is some variation of what Carlos Gomez has done offensively the last two years (outside of SB).

Javy is going to be legendary and every non Cub fan will hate him. Between calling his HR, doing WTF he wants, the great story with his sister, and the tattoo of the MLB logo, there's no way he fails or is even average. 10+ All Star games and first ballot HOF. End of discussion.

Definitely Baez. What he did in Double-A was spectacular. I love Bryant, but he's got contact issues himself.

On another note, when is mlb.com going to update their lists? It bugs the [expletive] out of me when the MLB Network uses them and shows Bryant and Olt as #4 and #5 on the Cubs' list.

I love Bryant as a prospect, but I have to go with Baez. What does it for me (other than defensive spectrum) is how he has adjusted his game and improved at each level as time went on.

1a and 1b are easy for me. It gets harder to call after that.

Awesome. Thanks, Raisin.

Its so close, I could have gone either way. Went with Bryant. Gut feeling. and my gut is sizable, so...

Initially I voted Bryant only (before I saw multiple vote option) because I'm a but concerned that Javy can't reproduce the absolutely amazing year he had last year. Then I voted for both Bryant and Baez as 1a/1b type thing, with no 3rd vote.

The poll does not take into account which name you clicked first. You essentially just voted for nobody. Since either Baez or Bryant will win. What you just did was place one chip on red and one on black, on a roulette board that doesn't have green or 0.

I went Baez due to the age, position, level, and experience advantages.

I certainly understand people chosing Baez. He had a monster year and there is a lot of reason for excitement. But I think Bryant is going to have an even more monster year in AA this year.

:clapping: Thanks Rasin!

I was tempted by what seems to be a higher floor with Bryant but then if floor was the decider I think Almora might be the better choice. Didn't like that idea so much, so I went back to my 1st instinct and took Javier Baez. He may just even get better than he was last year. Hard to imagine that dream could come true.

Man, I really like the way you think! And that's assuming he just repeats last years performance ad infinitum. He may just be scratching the surface of his potential at this point.

With Baez running away with this one, do we need another 24 hours?

Floor isn't the decider. Bryant is almost a lock to be good, but he can be great. He has the floor and ceiling that almora can't compare with.

I went with Bryant and I'll say why. I used some outside sources to help shape my decision but ultimately it was up to me. MLB's 2014 list has Baez at 7 and Bryant at 9. Sickels has both Baez and Bryant as As. So I get the feeling these 2 guys are viewed in that same tier of top 10 MLB talent types.

The difference is. I think Baez is more risky but comes with superstar ceiling. Bryant has a safer floor, but still comes with All-Star MVP type ceiling. And I just feel Bryant is a safer bet to at least reach his floor. That's why I chose Bryant, but they are oh so very close in value as prospects.

EDIT: and wow it's neck and neck right now, both with 10 votes. I think that shows just how close they really are, and how I'm not the only one who feels that way.

I don't really get why you guys feel that Bryant has a higher floor than Baez (and in some cases, significantly).

Baez plays a more difficult position and, to me, Bryant has the same flaws while Baez is a bit more advanced, almost a year younger, and might even be better at Bryant's strengths than Bryant.

Battered Fan Syndrome.

It'll feel like a miracle if one of them pans out.

Baez is douchier/jerkier too, though!
